Job Title: Project Manager
Business: Emtrade International Ltd
Reports to: Managing Director
Responsible for: Cross section of projects
Liaison with: Customer Manager/Director, Project Delivery Team
Main purpose of the job:
Emtrade is an independent provider of industrial shot blasting and specialist coatings application. It also undertakes complex refurbishment work of second hand heavy earth moving machinery (predominantly Caterpillar).
The role incorporates managing multiple projects from both industry sectors i.e. installation of anti attack barriers at various / prestigious locations or projects relating to rebuilding and refurbishment of construction equipment.
Project Managers aim to maximise profit for Emtrade International and endeavour to exceed client expectations regarding competence thus portraying a positive image of the Company to the client.
Requirements:
The Project Manager will ensure each project is completed safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality by effectively organizing and managing all project resources. The Project Manager is the key interface with the client and responsible for ensuring follow up after project’s completion. The person is expected to be able to work with minimal supervision. Suitable candidates will have good experience of project management, and will have spent a large proportion of their career in a construction industry sector or painting (automotive, commercial) or similar sectors. Knowledge of Health and Safety and Environmental aspects the company has to comply with is essential.
Key activities:
- Ensure teamwork delivers
- Define and communicate the project’s objectives
- Understanding the strategic vision of the company
- Project planning (scheduling, communicating, monitoring and reporting systems)
- Problem solving (anticipate problems, identify solutions, communicate to the team, think outside traditional boundaries and challenge team to do thinks differently, communicate problems upwards and request support)
- Manage relationships with customer (ensuring regular feedback during execution of project, to resolve difficulties in non-adversarial manner)
- Deliver a profit (understand and communicate commercial aims of the project, identify key performance indicators and measure delivery)
Personal drive essential, pushes team and self to achieve targets, drives a culture of continuous improvement inspiring others by personal commitment and enthusiasm. Self confident and energetic in pursuit of goals without the need for constant referral or reinforcement from others. Trustworthy and reliable in dealings with customers and staff. Very effective team player.
Job Title: Workshop Foreman
Business: Emtrade International Ltd
Reports to: Operations Manager
Responsible for: Team of shot blasters, painters, welders and fitters
Liaison with: Clients, Drivers, workshop staff
Main purpose of the job:
Responsible for leadership of a team or teams, defining and communicating daily targets and understanding constrains; implementation of health, safety, environmental legislations and quality systems; delivering the end product on time, within budget and to the agreed quality.
It is important that the person in this position acts as a role model - shaping culture of effectiveness by own example; exceeds client’s expectations thus portraying a positive image of Emtrade Int. Ltd to the client.
Main tasks:
- Organise and control workshop staff
- Ensure accurate input of jobs onto the Eclipse
- Ensure standards are achieved throughout
- Responsible for job allocation to suit the requirements
- Focused on delivering quality & high productivity
- Build a motivated and effective team
- Ensure that the skills within the team or teams are effectively utilised
- Facilitate appropriate training opportunities to his staff
- Effectively communicate up the chain of command
- Forward scheduling the work
- Keeping track of any defect work and any other relevant records
- Monitoring performance and rework rate
- Providing feedback to the Operations Manager on daily basis
- Provide structured approach in implementation of H&S and quality systems
- Clearly communicating with impact to the staff
- Commercial focus - recognises the need for extra resources to improve the operations of the business, understands Gross Profit, Sales and Direct Cost
- Personally committed to promoting the importance of long-term relationships with customers
- Stimulates ideas and suggestions for improvement
- Ensure that staff understand the risks associated with the job (i.e. vehicle movement, working with paint, etc)

Experience in shot blasting and painting or construction sectors beneficial. Good IT skills essential.
