
Health & Safety Policy Statement
- The Company is fully committed to meeting it's responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 (as amended) and other associated UK legislation, both as an Employer and as a Company. These include designated emergency procedures, health surveillance where applicable and employment of competent persons. The Company is committed to improve both the service it provides and its health and safety performance through a process of continual review.
- Emtrade International Ltd will:
- assess the risks to health and safety, record any significant findings and make arrangements for the provision of these results to the workforce and others.
- provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions, complying with all statutory requirements.
- provide information, training, supervision and instruction to ensure employees perform their work safely and efficiently.
- take necessary precautions when dealing with flammable/explosive materials, electricity, noise, lead, asbestos and sources of radiation and control exposure to any substance hazardous to health.
- make available all necessary mechanical and personal safety devices and to supervise their use.
- ensure that all plant and machinery is well maintained and fit for use.
- maintain a focus on health and safety matters applicable to the company's activities and consult and involve employees or their representatives. A formal review of the health and safety management system will take place at least annually or when circumstances dictate.
- provide health surveillance for employees where a health risk is identified or suspected.
- organise emergency procedures and inform all employees and visitors. Ensure adequate first aid provision.
- report all instances of reportable injury / incident to the regulatory authorities.
- Our employees have a responsibility to co-operate in the operation of this policy by:
- working safely and efficiently to minimise risk of injury to themselves and others.
- not misusing any equipment provided for health and safety.
- reporting incidents that have led or may lead to injury or damage.
- adhering to company procedures for securing a safe workplace.
- assisting in the investigation of accidents and co-operating in introducing measures to prevent recurrences.
- conforming to statutory obligations.
